Robelyn is back.
I've been sick for awhile that's why I was not able to write new article. Anyway, I've been to Siargao last summer and it was my first time traveling there by myself since my last visit was in high school days with guardian. Today, I'll be sharing with you my trip to give guide how to reach Siargao like a pro. People prefer to fly from Manila to Surigao in going to Siargao than a direct flight from Cebu to Siargao. This island is a popular destination in the Philippines because it is considered the Surfing Capital of the country.
Transportation From Surigao To Siargao
When you arrive at Surigao airport just walk to the national road towards Integrated bus terminal where the multi-cab is waiting for you. This terminal is next to Gaisano Mall. There are some tricycles and multi-cabs passing by that you can take when you exit the airport gate.
The Multi-cab will take you to the main city until the pier called bilang- bilang where the seaport is located for only P11. This transportation is only good for backpackers since we don't have taxis in this town but, you may take tricycle for special trip around P60 that is a good choice if you have big bags because the cab is full of passengers and no space for bags. If they ask for higher fare, just tell them that you've been here many times that you will just pay the seats which is P10 per seat since it occupies 6 persons.
In my experience, I took the Fortune Angel boat going to Siargao. There are also other boats that you can choose from but these are located at the boulevard. If you prefer your trip in boulevard where Lantsa (smaller boats) are waiting for passengers going to Siargao, just walk to the left when facing this Eva M. Macapagal Passenger Terminal, then turn right going to boulevard. This street is in between TT & Company building and the Eva M. Macapagal Passenger Terminal when walking at borromeo street or Bilang-bilang. You can take tricycle too if you are lazy to walk, just tell the driver "boulevard" and the name of the boat such LQP or Dapa Express.
Schedules And Fares
The schedule for LQP and Dapa Express is very early at 5:30am at the boulevard so, you need to stay in Surigao hotel for a night to catch the trip. The best hotel near boulevard and the port is Tavern Hotel. The fare of the boat is P250 and the trip will take 2 1/2 - 3 hours to Dapa port.
The Fortune Angel leaves at 5:45am and 11 am. So, you have choice what trip you wanna take. The departure will be at Eva Macapagal Terminal. You will need to pay terminal fee after buying ticket before entering to the departure area. The fare is P270 for aircon while P220 for economy. It will take 2 1/2 hours to Dapa port.
How To Go To Cloud 9
From Dapa port, just walk straight because the Jeepney terminal is very near. They have Habal-habal too as a form of transportation (motorbike with roof), this is the one we tried. The fare is P150 if you are alone, P200 if two persons. They will take you straight to cloud 9 or to your hotel/guest house in cloud 9. The trip using this transportation is 30 minutes - 45 minutes depends if it's raining.
I think this is all for today. I hope this info is enough to get you going. Have a safe trip and enjoy Siargao!
