Hi guys,
Happy New Year to all! Today I wanna share with you my experience in going to Mabua beach. It is really easy. Here, I will show how to go there by tricycle with your family if you wanna spend your holiday or decided to have an outing in a pebble beach. The view is amazing and you will find it unique because there is no sand here but big pebbles or stones will welcome your way to the sea. Transportation
My family in Surigao city is not rich. So, we don't have car to use in every outing we spent together in the beach. But, it is easy to commute using the public transportation in the city. Here is how we did it:
* Find any tricycle on the road. * Talk to the driver about going to the beach. * Ask him how much will it cost your family to pay him just by sending you and your companions from the city to Mabua. * When reaching Mabua, ask the same driver if he is willing to pick you up in the set time of going home. If in case he cannot comeback, there are other tricycles parking on the road you can also ask for. In our experience, we found a tricycle at the back of SST in paradise st. just stand by waiting for passengers. He gave us a reasonable fare rate of P100 pesos for one way. He sent us to the end road of Mabua beach. Then, he picked us up at 5:00 pm which was the set time we want. So, the total rate of P200 was spent in our transportation and worth it. Cottage Rental
When you arrive in the said beach, there will be a woman or caretaker will come to your chosen cottage. The rate depends with the occasion or days. If ordinary day like weekdays, they charge it for P150 . If weekends, P200 for cottages that are built on the side rows while P250 for cottages in front rows facing the ocean. It will increase into P350 at most if there are special occasions like Holy Week, Christmas, etc.
Hiking with 380 Steps
If you want adventure, Mabua has 380 steps stairs going to the other beach on the other side of the mountain, they call it Looc beach. At the end road, you will see cottages owned by a private sector and you can rent it whenever you wanna stay overnight. In this area, you will see a sign board of 380 steps arrow heading to the stairs in the bush. At the top of the mountain, you will find it amazing by just looking at the entire view of the beach. Going down on the other side of the mountain is the Looc beach.
Take a look at the views
The Looc beach has same cottages with Mabua but only few. And the people coming here are also few. Nice and beautiful rock formations will welcome you in this beach. The pebbles here are smaller than Mabua pebbles.
I hope you guys enjoy the fascinating views I've shared today. See you next hub! GO BACK TO "SURIGAO CITY" PAGE

I've never heard of this place before, but I heard a lot of wonderful things about it. The sea looks really clean and clear. I'm wondering if there are cheap places to stay in nearby. I am planning to visit here some day. Hopefully, I can include this in my travel plans for the future.
