To register your business in BIR, you should wait for the email confirmation from the DTI after you registered your business name. When you receive the email stating your information like the business TIN number, you should jot down that information and take with you going to the BIR branch.

In BIR branch office, you go straight to the information desk to ask for your number. They will request you to log in first in their book as visitor then, will press the button for the counter you are going to. In Surigao branch, the counter for registration is number 4. Your number will show up on the screen and will call your number through computer system. In the said window, the staff will give you the application form and the requirements needed to submit in xerox copy. After submitting those requirements, the staff will give you the form 0605 to be filled out for registration fee which is 500 pesos and you will take that form with you after they verified it to pay to the bank such as Landbank, Metrobank, UCPB, etc. In my case, I chose Metrobank because it is nearer to my place.

After paying to the bank, take back the receipt and the copy of the form with the bank signature to the counter in BIR. They will then put those copies in your folder of documents you submit earlier. After that, they will ask you to attend orientation so that they will release your Certificate of Registration.

You will also  need to pay the documentary stamp of 15 pesos and 100 for the certification fee. So, form 0605 is again needed to fill-out and submit that to the releasing section where they accept the fee for certification fee. They will give you back a receipt and a copy of the form that you need to submit again to counter 4.

After attending the orientation, you can follow up anytime about the release of your registration certificate.

See you again for the next tutorials...
