I am happy this year because at last I already registered my small business in the Philippines on the 3rd day of January.
I have this room for rent at home and we call it a nice small income coming to sustain our family’s needs. Our boarding house started long time ago from one room until it reaches 10 rooms today. Actually, we did not have any plan to register it as a business because we only get small income from it just to pay our monthly bills and food but, we also consider to be working legally in order for us to have peace of mind. Besides, there are still benefits in registering this business.
Today, I am happy to share with you my experience on how to avail the government service in registering your business through a one stop shop in the municipality every year.
This service of the municipality is a one way of giving citizens a fast processing of the papers by giving them 20 day-service. The service will start January 1 until the 20th of the month every year where people can go to a one spot to register or renew their businesses. In this service, all of the departments or government offices which are needed in participating in the processing of the documents will be available in one place. Just choose which date you are comfortable and available in your schedule to do it.
Steps in Getting Business Permit
One Stop Shop January 1 - 20 in Surigao City
*BRGY. BUSINESS CLEARANCE
SINGLE PROPRIETOR – DTI CERTIFICATE
CORPORATION – ARTICLES OF CORPORATION
COOPERATIVE – CDA CERTIFICATE
*2X2 ID PICTURE
• GO TO THE CITY GYM IN SURIGAO CITY
• GO TO THE DTI SECTION INSIDE THE GYM TO GET CERTIFICATE
•GO TO THE CORNER WHERE YOUR BARANGAY TABLE IS SPOTTED TO GET YOUR CEDULA AND BRGY. BUSINESS CLEARANCE
•GO TO THE STEP 1 CORNER TO GET THE BUSINESS APPLICATION FORM
•PHOTO COPY THE APPLICATION FORM AFTER FILLING IT OUT WITH THE CORRECT INFORMATION(2 COPIES)
GO BACK TO STEP 1 CORNER TO SUBMIT THE DTI CERTIFICATE, BRGY. BUSINESS CLEARANCE, CEDULA AND THE APPLICATION FORM WITH ITS XEROX
•AFTER SUBMITTING THE REQUIREMENTS, WAIT FOR YOUR NAME CALL ON THE SECOND TABLE
•IN YOUR TURN, THEY WILL ASK YOU YOUR MONTHLY EARNINGS OR CAPITAL IN THE BUSINESS
•THEY WILL ENCODE THAT AMOUNT IN YOUR FORM AND SUBMIT TO THE HEAD FOR SIGNATURE
•AFTER THE HEAD’S SIGNATURE, THE STAFF WILL PRINT THE TAX DUE WORKSHEET AND GIVE BACK THE PAPERS TO YOU
•YOU BRING ALL YOUR PAPERS TO THE NEXT TABLE TO CHECK IF YOUR LAND TAX WHERE YOUR BUSINESS IS LOCATED HAS ALREADY BEEN PAID, IF NOT PAID YET THEY WILL ASK YOU TO GO TO PAY IT TO THE SAID DEPARTMENT
•AFTER THAT, PAY YOUR FIRE SAFETY INSPECTION FEE IN ANOTHER TABLE
•PAY YOUR ANNUAL ELECTRICAL INSPECTION FEE TO THE NEXT TABLE
•PAY YOUR TAX DUE WORKSHEET AT THE PAYMENT SECTION
•SHOW YOUR DOCUMENTS AFTER THE PAYMENTS TO THE TABLE NEXT TO THE PAYMENT SECTION TO WRITE DOWN YOUR NAME IN THEIR LOG BOOK
•SHOW YOUR DOCUMENTS TO THE BUREAU OF FIRE PROTECTION SECTION TO GET CERTIFICATE
•SHOW YOUR DOCUMENTS TO THE ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH AND SANITARY SERVICES FOR PERMIT AND ID
•SUBMIT ALL YOUR DOCUMENTS TO THE RELEASING SECTION FOR BUSINESS PERMIT PRINTING/RELEASING
•WAIT FOR FEW MINUTES FOR THE RELEASE OF YOUR PERMIT AND BUSINESS PLATE
That’s it guys, all of the departments have their respective tables, so you won’t be confused inside of the gymnasium and there were name plates in each table.
