Hola Mi Amigo/Amiga,
My experience in Costa Rica was a wonderful living. No crimes or whatever disturbing activities in the country that makes travelers worry to stay longer. When traveling in a certain country, most of the travelers are worried about the trouble or wars that's happening in the world that make them scared to explore the world. What I'm gonna share with you is how to travel as a pro. So, here's an info on how to go to San Jose as soon as you arrived in Costa Rica.

HOW TO GO TO SAN JOSE FROM THE AIRPORT

There are taxis waiting outside as soon as you walked out the exit door of the airport. These taxis are expensive and mostly the vans are own by hotels. If you wanna save money or you are a loner backpacker, taking a bus is good for you. The rate of the taxi is $10 taking you to the city proper which is  San Jose. A lot of cheap hostels in the city where you can stay overnight. I always take bus so, here's how to catch it.

Outside the airport, just cross the pedestrian lane as shown in the picture above and walk to the left then turn right going to the bus stop as shown in the picture below. You can wait at the waiting area with shade and seat while no bus is coming yet. Every hour, the bus will arrive. The buses will drop off passengers in the said bus stop who will take their flights in the said airport. The same spot you can stay to take your ride to San Jose because the last destination of the buses will be the said city. There are also empty buses that pick up passengers going to San Jose so, just ask the driver or read the sign board "San Jose" in front. You will pay only $1 in bus. Wow! The bus destination is mostly in Coca Cola station. A lot of bus stations in San Jose, if you happen to take the Garabito bus it will take you to the said station. If Alajuela bus it will take you to the park walking distance to the San Juan De Dios Hospital.

Usually, the bus is located across the park near San Juan De Dios Hospital. The sign board is going to Alajuela. That is the bus you will take going to the airport. This station is also walking distance from Coca Cola Station. Tell the driver of the bus "Aeropuerto" and he will nod his head as yes then pay him. The rate is 500 colones or $1, you can save here than taking a taxi. If you have luggage then better take a taxi for convenience. This is good only for backpackers/travelers acting as locals. You will feel convenient if you felt like one of the locals.
